Professional Identity

pei nurses union

As a frontline Nurse Practitioner (NP), I have been given the privilege to care for patients during their time of critical and acute illness in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The beauty of being an NP ensures that patients are receiving holistic, patient centered care while applying evidence-based medicine. Since transitioning to the acute care setting from family practice, I have developed even more appreciation for the collaborative practice model when delivering healthcare.

As a regulated professional, I take pride in my reputation as an NP and ensure that this is maintained while on the unit and though my activities outside of the hospital. As the only NP working at the Prince County Hospital, I want to ensure that I represent the NP profession with pride and poise. As an automounts, skilled, and comprehensive provider I will continue to provide high quality, culturally safe, and unbiased care to the people of Prince Edward Island while advocating for the advancement of the NP profession.
